welcome to artmix!

since 2005, we have had the pleasure of teaching so many students of all ages and abilities how to draw, paint, sculpt and make masterpieces to cherish! 

now that we are in our new mini studio, we are featuring private and semi-private lessons for artists ages 5 to teens and adults, including individuals with special needs.

artists now have a choice of two teachers for their lessons, miss jacqueline or miss carla.  miss carla worked at artmix from 2005 – 2010 and is currently the lower school art teacher at st. john’s school in houston.  please see carla and jacqueline’s contact information below to schedule private lessons.  

carla wall, teacher

 carla is a visual art teacher at st. john’s lower school. she founded the art program at KIPP liberation middle school and taught there for 6 years. prior to her work at KIPP, she taught a diverse, multimedia art curriculum to children ages 2-15 at artmix studio. she earned a bachelor of arts in art history from the university of houston and a master of education in educational leadership from national louis university, chicago. she is currently pursuing a master of education in school counseling from the university of st. thomas, houston. carla is a native houstonian, has 18 years of professional teaching experience, and is a proud alum of the high school for the performing and visual arts. she is passionate about education and sees visual art as a tool that can not only support students academically, but can also be supportive in self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-expression. she is a mother and wife who enjoys design, painting, ceramics and drawing. carla is extremely excited to work be back at artmix and offer private lessons again in a variety of media, portfolio development for teens and more!

jacqueline kenneally, owner & teacher

in 2005, jacqueline opened artmix studio in houston, texas to bring art to artists of all ages and abilities. prior to opening artmix, jacqueline earned a bachelor of arts at georgetown university, a master of art education and a master of special education at the university of houston.  while in graduate school, jacqueline volunteered daily with pediatric patients at md anderson canter center in houston, through the children’s art project.  she also worked for three years at the river visual and performing arts center in houston, and had the opportunity to teach children with a variety of special needs. since 2005, jacqueline and her team of teachers have hosted year-round art classes, parties for all occasions, participated in a great many art events in the community, especially with the sunshine kids foundation of houston.  jacqueline lives in houston where she and her husband raised their three sons.
