meet our team

miss Jacqueline

Owner & Studio Teacher

in 1993, my husband and I moved to houston, where we have raised our three wonderful sons.  in 2005, i realized my life-long dream of opening an art school for all children, including children with special needs. i have totally loved being able to spend the last nearly 15 years growing artmix with an incredible team of art teachers, students, along with my very supportive family.

with regards to my academic background, in 1989, i earned my undergraduate degree in government and international relations from georgetown university, in washington, d.c..  i earned a master of arts education in 1996, and a master of special education in 1998, from the university of houston. i have worked in the field of art education, specifically teaching children with special needs, since 1994. in 2014, i completed the goldman sachs 10,000 small business program, here in houston.

before opening artmix, i volunteered for seven years with the pediatric patients at m.d. anderson cancer center through the children’s art project. since then, it has been a total joy for our artmix team to get to partner with a variety of organizations that support creativity for houston’s children, including the houston chapter of the sunshine kids, a variety of programs serving children with autism, the bayou bend foundation, as well as schools and parks throughout the houston area.

my team and i hope to welcome you to artmix very soon!
